Concrete5 is an interesting contribution to the free CMS spectrum.I came across C5 as an option to install on my web host so I had a look. It offers lots of flexibility for layout and editing, with drag and drop layout and so on. It handles RSS feeds with aplomb.
It does not compete with things like wordpress for ease of use as a blog, but to lay out static pages it looks like a winner, and since you can paste in RSS feeds there is nothing stopping you from generating your blog in wordpress and getting the blog as an RSS feed into C5. Generating custom page types is a doddle, and by editing the view.php file you can get blocks on the page that do whatever you want. I may be moving my website to C5 soon!
